No Input File Specified Error | GoDaddy

What’s up with GoDaddy!!

Another issue with Godaddy servers while moving a site. Issue arises when we tried to connect to Magento admin.

Looking at the main .htaccess file, I noted that there were some entries specific for Magento on Godaddy that have been commented out by default.

Open the .htaccess file and look for content similar to this one below:

## GoDaddy specific options
# Options -MultiViews
## you might also need to add this line to php.ini
## cgi.fix_pathinfo = 1
## if it still doesn't work, rename php.ini to php5.ini

Simply uncomment:

## GoDaddy specific options
  Options -MultiViews

Refresh your site. If problem continues, add the next entry in your php.ini or php5.ini file as it same in the comment.

You may also want to try and set up the

RewriteBase /

I have also noted, you may have to wait for about 15 to 30mins for changes to take effect. I have also read somewhere, it may take up to 24 hours to gain browsing consistency

I have had this strange issue while moving a site from our development server to the GoDaddy Server.

After some hours of head scratching, found a “solution” to be removal of .htaccess file inside the media folder!

Silly, and I am not even sure this is the best solution but it works.

If you have a better idea, please drop us a comment!

Apparently, all you need to do is to do a very minor change on the file.

Open it up and right at the top, change:

Options All -Indexes
<IfModule mod_php5.c>
php_flag engine 0

#Options All -Indexes
<IfModule mod_php5.c>
php_flag engine 0

Magento – How to Remove index.php from url address bar

Here is how you can remove the index.php suffix from Magento URLs with ease!

This is also great thing to do for your SEO.

Log in to the backend and navigate to

System > Configuration > Web > Search Engines Optimization

Set Use Web Server Rewrites to YES.

Refresh cache management and you should be all set from here.

For others, you may also find useful to enable the RewriteBase from your .htaccess file. Never found this necessary though!

Enforcing WWW URLs with 301 Redirect using .htaccess file

Friday, 16. September 2011

If you want to enforce www to your URLs or simply redirect everything to a new URL with .htaccess file, this may help you.

1) Open your .htaccess file and look for these lines

Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine On

2) Underneath these lines:

301 Redirect Everything to new URL

RewriteRule ^(.*)$$1 [R=301,L]

301 enforce WWW to URL

# Everything that does not start with wwww
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$$1 [L,R=301]
